Boo at the Zoo

It was really fun! Lots of things for the kids to do, and just another reason for them to put a costume on! They were so cute.

A Great 1st Nine Weeks

I am happy to say that we got Claire's first report card this week! She had all S's (satisfactory) in all of her subjects! We are so proud of her! She has been involved with the Accelerated Reader Program at school and has been getting A's on all of those tests. When she does well on the tests, she gets tickets - the tickets can go towards a big prize at the end of the year!

We look forward to Maddy's report card next week!

Another Wedding!

Some don't know her, but most do.....Reshelle is my oldest and one of my best friends! She is the next one in the crew to get married! We have been having so much fun helping her plan for her May Wedding. Her and Joe have been together for 7 years, and they have waited for the perfect time to tie the knot. Reshelle is graduating and getting her Masters degree ONE WEEK before her wedding! YOU GO GIRL! I am so happy for her! We will be the only married gals in our crew....but hopefully more to come! Here we are at my mom's condo doing some planning for the Hawaiian Honeymoon Shower that we will be having in the reception room at the Marseilles. Paw Paw loves you, Shellca!!!

16 weeks (4 months) Progression

Here is a 16 wk progression picture! Moving along! Here is what is going on with the baby:
Fat begins to form underneath skin, providing your baby with insulation for the coming months. Did you know that both baby and placenta are now about the same size?
Your little one has reached 4.57 inches (11.6cm) and approximately 3.53 ounces (100gm). His head and neck are held straighter now. This is a week of "mights!" You might hear the tiny thumps of his heartbeat with an external monitor now. The genitals are developed sufficiently that an experienced sonographer might be able to determine if your baby is a boy or a girl. Her heart is pumping as much as 6 gallons of blood a day and beats at a rate about double your heartrate. If you could take a peek inside, you would witness your child's reflexes in action! (Sucking, swallowing and blinking are now evident.) She is probably even hiccuping even though you don't feel it yet! Your baby has learned to breathe! This is apparent from the regular movements of his chest. Isn't it amazing that he is able to breathe "underwater," inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid? These actions help the lungs to develop and grow.
