Starting Early!

My Mom, Jessica, and Karen and I went to the Jewelry Show on Sunday. Amelia came with us and was so wonderful - as usual! There were no strollers allowed, so I had to carry her in the little "pooch"!

Family Vacation

I am a little late in posting this, but I just downloaded the pictures not too long ago! We took the girls to the beach in Perdido Key for July 4th again this year. What an awesome time they had! Amelia was so relaxed and slept every chance she got! She really took advantage of her VACA!

SORRY!

I have been a very bad blogger-mommy! As you all can imagine, my life is a little hectic. Lots going on.....softball, cabbage ball, swimming, baby appointments, kids getting sick, working A LOT, and the rest of the wife/mom things that we all know about. Life as a stay at home mom/self employed is very rough. Thank god I have Shanon's daughter Hayley to help me out sometimes! She really loves Amelia and she can take care of her while I get things done around the house and on the computer.
Amelia will be 4 months old on July 12! Life goes by too fast - DON'T BLINK because they will be in college!

Amelia has still been a relaxing baby and so sweet. She has had a reflux issue since birth, but we have got the right concoction of medicines/formulas/cereals to settle her tummy and make eating easier for her. I will post a bunch of 3 month pictures even though they are a little old!

And the doctor says...

Doc says that my cervix is thinning out nicely, but that her head is still high. Next week.......I will be going for another ultrasound with the specialist as a followup from the Fifths Disease saga. We will measure the baby then and let's hope she is normal sized! No more weeks - I am counting days now.....18 days to go!

36 weeks/9 MONTHS!

For my sanity and for the sanity of my family, I hope this is my last photo! I am very tired of being pregnant and I hope I do not go until my scheduled induction on March 16th. I thought I was happy that I knew a date and I had time to prepare, but now I just really don't care anymore. I am as ready as I will ever be and can't wait until this is over! I go to the doctor tomorrow and will post an update. Weekly appointments from now on!
This is what is up "in there": This week, the average size is about 6.3 pounds (2859gm) now and 19.1 inches (48.6cm) length. She is official full term now but can still benefit from extra days in the womb. Your baby continues to practice breathing movements. Isn't it amazing how she can breathe "under water?" Grasp is firm now. It won't be long until you'll feel that strong little fist confidently grasping your finger (or tightly clenching your hair)! A few weeks ago, your baby would move her eyes toward light. Now she turns towards light outside the uterus. "As the uterine wall stretches and thins allowing more light to permeate, he develops definite daily activity cycles. You will want to be sure to establish good patterns yourself at this time, thus encouraging them in your child. Ever heard of a baby getting his days/nights mixed up? Now's the time to try to avoid that!

Big Sisters

The girls took a Big Sister class at the hospital last night. They were so excited about learning as much as possible about taking care of the baby. They learned how to change a diaper, hold the baby, feed her, etc. They also got a tour of the hospital to show them where we would be staying and the nursery. At the end, they got certificates to show they completed the course!

THEY ARE READY! (Me too! 3 weeks to go! Will post a picture this weekend for 36 weeks/9months)

Good News From the Doctor

Just got back from the doctor!!!!! I am so excited because we have a date now! The doctor doesn’t want me to go to my due date because of the size of the baby, so he is going to take me in for an induction on the evening of March 16th to have the baby on March 17th. A St. Patty’s Baby!

Also, I lost a little weight which he thinks is fluid lost....this is great and the worries about my excessive fluid retention are over for now!

4 WEEKS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mardi Gras Pics

We took the girls to Endymion this weekend and they had the time of their lives! We didn't have Claire on Mardi Gras Day, but we took Maddy and met up with our friends, Brian and Shanon and stood out on Vets and baked in the sun. It was a good day!

32 weeks/8 months ALREADY!

Here is my 32 week picture....time is going by fast, but feels SO SLOW! The doctor said everything is fine at our last appointment on Wednesday. This is what is going on inside: Amniotic fluid is at its highest level during your pregnancy. Your baby's head size has increased 3/8ths of an inch due to rapid brain growth. Neurons and synapses are developing in huge numbers -- forming connections in your baby's brain will give him the skills he needs to thrive as a newborn. This week, he may be able to coordinate sucking and swallowing with breathing. While most of his bones are hardening, his skull is quite pliable and not completely joined. The bones will be able to move slightly to make birthing easier. You baby takes intermittent deep breaths -- of water! That's okay, though since she gets oxygen from the placenta. This breathing exercises muscles and encourages her lung cells to produce more surfactant (a protein essential for healthy lung development).
If your baby is a boy, his testicles will be descending from his abdomen into his scrotum. Sometimes one or both testicles won't move into position until after birth.
Your infant is now 17.2 inches (43.7cm) long and weighs 4.23 pounds (1918gm).

A glimpse into my future!

I babysat my neice, Carmela, today. It made me realize what life will be like after baby is born. We went to the Children's Museum. It was really fun, but I think I could have chased the kids better if I wasn't almost 8 months pregnant! We had a great time, and I am actually looking forward to doing it again!

A doctor's appointment and MORE!

We are starting to go every two weeks now. I am 31 weeks along. Heartbeat is good, everything seems fine. I'm a little bigger than I (or the doctor)wants to be. But I will work on that!

Maddy and Claire both got their report cards this month! Maddy did very well with plenty of S's to show for (no grades until next year) and Claire got straight A's and made the distinguished honor roll! We are very proud of them and they are doing so well! YOU GO GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Claire is finishing her first year of basketball tonight. She really had a good time and.....well.....her team kicked butt! I will post some pics soon!

They both start soccer next month and are very excited! BUSY BUSY BEES!!!!!!!!!!

New Years

I little overdue, but just found a few pics on my camera. I didn't take many that night because it was so smokey! The girls had a good time and lasted until 12:10am. hehe! As soon as midnight hit, they asked to go home. They fell asleep in the car on the ride and didn't wake up until 10am the next morning. It was such a fun party!

28 weeks/7months

Well, we are officially in our third trimester...time is flying now! (I am actually in my 29th week - I am posting late!) I went to the doctor today for our 3D ultrasound. It was so much fun! She is so cute and chubby! The ultrasound is putting me at 30 weeks, so we will see if she comes earlier?!?!
Here is what is going on inside this week: Week Thirty - Did you know your baby is nearly three pounds now? His head is getting larger to accommodate a period of rapid brain growth. Don't forget to continue to "teach" your baby in the womb by exposing to music, literature, and simply talking to him. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him. As he grows and fills your uterus, the amount of amniotic fluid will decrease. Funny, you certainly won't feel any lighter! She spends more and more time practicing opening and closing eyelids. Her eyes can move from side to side, following a light source. She may even reach out to touch the light. Early lanugo is beginning to disappear that served to protect your baby's skin from the water in the womb. Your little one's own hair may begin to appear. Toenails are entering their final growth stage. Bone marrow is now in charge of red blood cell production. These red blood cells will continue to service your child's body by transporting oxygen and removing the wastes (carbon monoxide and other gases). Your baby has the capability now to produce tears -- yes, within the womb. By the end of this week, your baby is now 15.7 inches (39.9cm) long and weighs 2.91 pounds (1319gm).

TOOTH FAIRY!

Well, after about a year of waiting and hoping, Claire finally lost her first tooth! The girls have been anxiously awaiting a loose tooth, and finally on Christmas Eve, Claire saw that her tooth was really loose this time! She pulled it herself Sunday morning! Maddy will be next we hope!

Christmas!

Santa was very sincere this year and came one day early for the girls since Claire was unable to be with us on Christmas morning! So Christmas Eve morning, the girls woke up to this! They had a blast! Unfortunately the pics of them did not come out good because the camera must have been on the wrong setting. But at least we got the video on them opening their gifts. We both can not believe that next year we will have another child in the house for Christmas! We are so blessed!

Stay tuned for pics and info on our 3D Ultrasound on Friday! I will post my 28 week picture and the pics from the ultrasound for all to see! THREE MONTHS TO GO!

Furniture

We ordered our Baby Furniture this weekend! It is so beautiful and I can not wait to set up her room! I picked out her bedding , and the theme of her room will be Ladybugs. Precious!

Thanks to my mom for buying the baby a peice of the furniture set! We appreciate everything you do for us! We love you!

24 weeks/6 months

Here is my pic for 6 months! We were going to a party and I was dressed up, so I switched up my pics a little. Here is what is going on this week: Bring on the bulk! Baby gains about 6 ounces this week. The weight is in muscle, bone mass and organs. His body begins to fill out with his appearance increasingly becoming more like a newborn. Taste buds begin to form. If mom drinks something strange or bitter, baby may be observed showing his distaste. Little creases have appeared on his palms. The muscular coordination of his hands has improved as he sucks his thumb. Over the next seven days the sweat glands will be forming in the skin. His lungs are eloping "branches" of the respiratory "tree" and cells that produce surfactant, a substance that helps the air sacs inflate easily. This week your baby is officially considered viable. Baby weighs 1.3 pound (600gm) and is 11.8 inches (30cm) long -- almost the length of a ruler!
