TOOTH FAIRY!

Well, after about a year of waiting and hoping, Claire finally lost her first tooth! The girls have been anxiously awaiting a loose tooth, and finally on Christmas Eve, Claire saw that her tooth was really loose this time! She pulled it herself Sunday morning! Maddy will be next we hope!

Christmas!

Santa was very sincere this year and came one day early for the girls since Claire was unable to be with us on Christmas morning! So Christmas Eve morning, the girls woke up to this! They had a blast! Unfortunately the pics of them did not come out good because the camera must have been on the wrong setting. But at least we got the video on them opening their gifts. We both can not believe that next year we will have another child in the house for Christmas! We are so blessed!

Stay tuned for pics and info on our 3D Ultrasound on Friday! I will post my 28 week picture and the pics from the ultrasound for all to see! THREE MONTHS TO GO!

Furniture

We ordered our Baby Furniture this weekend! It is so beautiful and I can not wait to set up her room! I picked out her bedding , and the theme of her room will be Ladybugs. Precious!

Thanks to my mom for buying the baby a peice of the furniture set! We appreciate everything you do for us! We love you!

24 weeks/6 months

Here is my pic for 6 months! We were going to a party and I was dressed up, so I switched up my pics a little. Here is what is going on this week: Bring on the bulk! Baby gains about 6 ounces this week. The weight is in muscle, bone mass and organs. His body begins to fill out with his appearance increasingly becoming more like a newborn. Taste buds begin to form. If mom drinks something strange or bitter, baby may be observed showing his distaste. Little creases have appeared on his palms. The muscular coordination of his hands has improved as he sucks his thumb. Over the next seven days the sweat glands will be forming in the skin. His lungs are eloping "branches" of the respiratory "tree" and cells that produce surfactant, a substance that helps the air sacs inflate easily. This week your baby is officially considered viable. Baby weighs 1.3 pound (600gm) and is 11.8 inches (30cm) long -- almost the length of a ruler!

Maddy's fair was this weekend and she was on stage today singing to Twistin the Night Away. Her class did great and it was so much fun!

20 wks/5 mths Update

Here is my picture for 20 weeks. HALF WAY THERE! We are taking the girls to the ultrasound in less than two weeks! BOY OR GIRL?????????? Bets anyone?

Here what is going on this month:You're half way there! The rapid growth stage is about over. While things have slowed down, this next stage is vital to survival.
The baby's heart grows stronger. Find a quiet place, lay flat on your back. Locate your own heartbeat by finding your pulse. Next lay your hand on your belly. You may be able to distinguish the two heartbeats! His legs are reaching their relative size. With the increase muscle develop occurring as well, you will start feeling much more than tiny flutter kicks soon! Immunities are being transferred from you to your baby now. These immune cells will protect her from viruses you've already had for up to six months after birth! The nerve cells for taste, smell, hearing, seeing, and touch are now developing in specialized areas of the brain. Production slows down as existing nerve cells grow larger and make more complex connections.
Your baby may startle in reaction to loud sounds. Amazingly, she can actually hear noises outside of the womb. Familiar voices, music, and sounds that baby becomes accustomed to during her development stages often are calming after birth.
If your baby is a girl, her uterus is starting to develop. She has approximately six million eggs in her ovaries. About one million will remain at birth.
Baby is about 6.46 inches (16.4cm) and weighs around 10.58 ounces (300g).

A Great 1st Nine Weeks

I am happy to say that we got Claire's first report card this week! She had all S's (satisfactory) in all of her subjects! We are so proud of her! She has been involved with the Accelerated Reader Program at school and has been getting A's on all of those tests. When she does well on the tests, she gets tickets - the tickets can go towards a big prize at the end of the year!

We look forward to Maddy's report card next week!

16 weeks (4 months) Progression

Here is a 16 wk progression picture! Moving along! Here is what is going on with the baby:
Fat begins to form underneath skin, providing your baby with insulation for the coming months. Did you know that both baby and placenta are now about the same size?
Your little one has reached 4.57 inches (11.6cm) and approximately 3.53 ounces (100gm). His head and neck are held straighter now. This is a week of "mights!" You might hear the tiny thumps of his heartbeat with an external monitor now. The genitals are developed sufficiently that an experienced sonographer might be able to determine if your baby is a boy or a girl. Her heart is pumping as much as 6 gallons of blood a day and beats at a rate about double your heartrate. If you could take a peek inside, you would witness your child's reflexes in action! (Sucking, swallowing and blinking are now evident.) She is probably even hiccuping even though you don't feel it yet! Your baby has learned to breathe! This is apparent from the regular movements of his chest. Isn't it amazing that he is able to breathe "underwater," inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid? These actions help the lungs to develop and grow.

Another Appointment

Mark and I went to our monthly appointment today. I have gained a few extra pounds this month and need to start watching what I am eating! The heartbeat was great (about 155-160) and the position was good. We go back in 4 weeks....I thought we were going to be able to have the ultrasound then, but we wants to wait to the following appointment at about 22.5 weeks. Oh well! it will be here before we know it, and we will all know if it is a Girl or a Boy!

I will post a pic next week when I turn 4 months officially!

Love to all!

The heartbeat!

The girls were so cute today at the doctor. Although they thought there was so much more to hearing the heartbeat, they still enjoyed it. The heartbeat is strong and looking good!

I cant figure out a way to download the audio! If anyone knows, let me know!

3 month/12 week progression picture!

Here we are at 3 months! Although it may look like I am growing quickly (I am) I haven't gained much weight...only about 3-4 lbs.
We are taking the girls with us to the doctor tomorrow to hear the heartbeat! I will try and get a good audio on my phone so everyone can hear!

Room Mother?????

I signed up for the unthinkable.....ROOM MOTHER. I figured that since I am working from home it would be easy for me to take on the job. Little did I know that the Kindergarten class has about 15 events this year. It is going to be very busy. I had to get a co-room mother for when I have the baby. I will need someone to pick up my slack. She is very nice and understanding, BUT she works full time so it will be hard for her to do a lot. WISH ME LUCK!

10.5 weeks......things are good!

Well for those that know, we had an appointment with the perenatoligist (sp?) today. She said everything looks wonderful! The baby was moving around and literally doing flips. It was great! She saw no reason why I was bleeding and since the baby looks so great, she really didn't seem concerned.

Back to life - stress has been lifted!
